Dust off those running shoes as the highly-anticipated on-ground Coway Run is back after a two-year long hiatus. Stretch out those limbs, flex those muscles and show your true spirit by giving it your all and leave behind nothing but smiles of satisfaction from October till November, this year.
Themed Unite to Create combines healthy living, wellness, fitness and art, participants can choose to join either the virtual run or on-ground run.
For participants who are choosing to run on-ground will also be able to run virtually! In the virtual run, participants will be able to run at their own pace and leisure from 1st October until 6th November.
With no distance limits set, participants can literally run out of their comfort zones and unlock new achievements by breaking personal boundaries and records to earn different virtual badges.
The on-ground run takes place on 6th November with an early flag-off from 6am at Dataran Putrajaya, with two categories of either the family-friendly 6km Fun Run or the 10km Competitive Run.
The 10km Competitive Run has six segments consisting of Men’s and Women’s in Open, Veteran and International Open, for participants aged 16 years old and above.
Tune in to your competitive spirit and run like the wind as a total of RM18,000 cash prize awaits the winners of the 10km Competitive Run.
“This year, we are extremely thrilled to have our on-ground run back in action again as Coway Run is one of the events that I believe many look forward to annually and we are excited to embark on this new edition of the run. Our loyal and avid running enthusiasts will not be disappointed as we have a lot in store for them. That said, our main objective of the Coway Run is to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst Malaysians and simultaneously create a platform for participants to give back to communities in need. So, gear up as this year’s run themed Unite to Create promises runners something bigger and bolder unlike any other runs in the past as the runners will be uniting to create change with every step taken.
‘Coway Run 2022: Unite to Create’ will be the first run in Malaysia that will feature NFT art pieces that will be put for a good cause.
Rhyming on the theme, the track is every runner’s canvas and the steps are the brush strokes used to create each individual’s unique running route in the form of a picture or an object.
Through the virtual run, participants will need to create unique trail art with a GPS running app and the most creative pieces of trail art will be turned into NFT artworks by a few local NFT artists.
Whereas, for the on-ground run, the participants will collaborate and celebrate by co-creating a huge work of art with a guest artist.
All the artworks will then be auctioned off and the proceeds will be channelled towards a few charitable organisations including EcoKnights, MERCY Malaysia, Reef Check Malaysia and the Nicol David Organisation.
Further to Coway’s commitment to doing good, as with previous years, every ticket sold contributes RM10 to Coway’s very own Happy Water Project that aims to continue helping underprivileged and Orang Asli communities get access to clean drinking water.
“Every year, thousands of participants help us change lives for the better and this year will be very fulfilling as we get to help more communities as well as contribute positively to Mother Earth, especially through the NFT art pieces that we will be collecting with the help of our runners. The trail art will be auctioned and the proceeds will be channelled to our charitable partners.
