The annual APPIES Malaysia Marketing Awards that honors the best marketing campaigns with outstanding success stories, as well as the people behind them, is officially accepting submissions for 2022.
APPIES Malaysia is an annual event that presents a rare opportunity for creative, media, digital and marketing agencies or brands to present their best campaigns to the industry. This year’s winners will receive Gold, Silver or Bronze trophies for 10 brand new categories, and 7 special Best of Best categories (red trophies) that require no submissions!
What makes the APPIES a sought-after award is the extensive selection process that takes place, which brings together 30 individuals from various industries, who have made their mark in the industry, as judges. The validation and recognition behind each gold, silver and bronze award is undisputed.
If you’ve never attended an APPIES before, it is known as the “TED of Marketing” and similar to TED Talks, APPIES is the chance for great presenters with outstanding work to show it off to some of Malaysia’s most important industry leaders.
Eligible campaigns are presented in an interactive format comprising a four-minute creative reel summary, followed by a six-minute oral presentation highlighting significant aspects of the campaign.
In light of our country’s ongoing battle with COVID-19, presentations and judging for APPIES 2022 will be conducted online from 15 – 17 July 2022. Despite hosting this event virtually this is the only event in Malaysia where live presentations meets live judging.
The deadline for submissions this year is 17 June 2022.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.
Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.
Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
