Step Into Tomorrow is Toyota Malaysia’s open invitation to viewers to experience the new generation Toyota Hybrid.
The film opens with a man looking at a cuboid filled with exciting and mysterious energy. The man steps forward and the energy reacts as it flows towards him.
As it moves, we see it take the shape of an energy-like car, a personification of Toyota Hybrid’s system and energy.
With the driver inside, the energy bursts forward as it courses through multiple portals, taking him on a drive like no other.
Each portal is unique, representing one of the five pillars Toyota has built their latest generation of hybrids on — synergy, less emissions, silence, power, and endurance.
The film ends with the driver and energy in modern-day Kuala Lumpur as the voiceover tells the viewers that tomorrow’s technology is here today, with the new generation Toyota Hybrid.
“This script really rocked Brad and mine’s boat, more so ‘coz it is for the ‘greater good’. This is exactly the kind of project we enjoy. Brad’s attention to detail and expertise in VFX and Animation really paid off on Toyota”, says Pete Singh, Executive Producer, The Tankers.
Brad Hogarth, Director for the ad film, said, “It’s not often that we get to work on something that can really make a change for the better, thank you to Toyota, Dentsu Malaysia and The Tankers for the opportunity. The brief was to communicate that Hybrid is the technology of the future, made today. The portals act as a transitional device between the unique worlds, representing both the benefits and progress from the present to the future of the Toyota Hybrid System.For me, it was important that we take the viewer on the ride with the Hybrid Energy.”
“PostFaust used many different techniques to achieve the final result, such as Digital Matte painting, manipulation of stock and advanced camera reconstruction through 3D and 2D tracking, complex compositing, modelling, liquid and particle simulations and 3D scene/environment reconstruction”, added Brad.
