Digi inspires Malaysians to be selfless and spread kindness to all

This season of giving, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) encourages Malaysians to practice selflessness and spread kindness to the ones around them, in ways big or small.

Digi’s film entitled Pemeri (meaning ‘The Gift’ in Iban), redefines the meaning of a gift this season. The film depicts a story of an East Malaysian boy, who forgoes his desire of wanting a gift in order to help someone whom he thinks needs it more.

The short story told from the perspective of a child highlights how the acts of selflessness and kindness create a positive loop that makes a difference for another person.

Bernard Lee, Digi’s Head of Marketing Services said, “Sometimes, the small acts of sacrifice and kindness can be just as powerful as a grand gesture. When we are kind to one another, it can have a lasting impact on the recipient. Selflessness truly is the best gift we can give someone this season.”

“On behalf of Digi, we would like to wish everyone a blessed and safe holiday season and New Year. May we continue spreading kindness and compassion to everyone around us, especially those in need”, added Bernard.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.

We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTTDOOHinfluencer marketing, retail, etc.

Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.

Collaboration is keypartnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.

Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
