mudah.my is now the best place to buy used cars in Malaysia

mudah.my, Malaysia’s No.1 car marketplace, is continuing  its push to increase the number of inspected used cars with warranty. This is in line with  Mudah.my also setting a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records, for the above-mentioned category.

The after sales warranty goes hand in hand with Mudah.my’s Mudah Vehicle Inspection & Protection (mVIP) program. Launched in August last year, the program aims to give used car buyers assurance and a peace of mind for their vehicle purchase by removing any uncertainty and doubt with three assurances: the first is by verifying the car registration and ownership details, the second is by verifying the true condition of the car via a comprehensive inspection process and the third is to offer the opportunity for buyers to purchase an extended warranty to protect against future repair costs. This initiative was launched in collaboration with MUV, a  pioneer of ‘Offline2Online’ and Malaysia’s first end-to-end vehicle bidding platform.

“The mVIP programme was launched to create a transparent and trusted car marketplace by providing an unbiased report on the true condition of the vehicle being bought. The programme is also a reflection of mudah.my’s ability to understand the local market and to meet the demands of Malaysians, especially with the recovering economy. Having our efforts now validated by the Malaysian Book of Records, also serves as a massive testament to our commitment in creating a seamless and trusted process of buying and selling used cars online,” said Gaurav Bhasin, CEO of mudah.my.

Car sales have also been on the rebound, due to the opening of showrooms, pent-up demand post-lockdown and buyers capitalising on the vehicle sales tax exemption. According to the Malaysian Automotive Association’s (MAA) report, the Total Industry Volume (TIV), which represents total local sales of passenger and commercial vehicles, was 43% higher in October, 2021 (63,489 units) than September 2021 (44,275 units).

However, with automotive factories only re-opening late in 2021’s third quarter, manufacturers are experiencing a bottleneck to  meet the demand for new cars. This delay in production will boost used car sales, especially for buyers who are looking to quickly make a purchase.

This perfectly ties in with the mVIP programme, empowering Malaysian used car buyers and sellers to deal effectively and worry-free, as mudah.my and MUV believe in the use of technology to make selling and buying used cars seamless and transparent.

As a whole, mudah.my currently has over 7 million monthly unique visitors and over 90,000 cars for sale. With the addition of MUV’s network of trained inspectors to generate online reports, mudah.my’s mVIP will bring Malaysians the largest selection of inspected used cars with warranty in Malaysia.

“Since the launch of mVIP three months ago, there already are more than 2,000 live used car ads with warranty. With the current improving economy and the positive outlook for the industry  based on MAA’s recent report, we only expect this number to grow,” said Peter Wong, Head of Mudah Auto.

Additionally, Andy Teh, CEO of MUV added that “ It has been a very exciting experience working alongside mudah.my through this strategic alliance and to provide them with our expertise in used vehicle inspections through our nationwide network of inspection centres and hubs. We are also glad to have achieved our target of having 5,000 inspected cars on mudah.my’s platform, and will continue our mission to help Malaysians buy cars, worry-free.

Car buyers can visit the mVIP section at mudah.my’s website or to download the mudah.my app to browse through the car categories.

Meanwhile, car owners can check their car valuation here before listing it for sale.
