Domino’s Pizza & Sime Darby Motors shower frontliners with love

Join the movement, spread love to our heroic frontliners!

Our fearless frontliners continue to play a crucial role in caring for Malaysians amidst the pandemic. They have sacrificed the most being at the forefront in this battle, from keeping up with extended working hours and to being apart from their families to take care of Covid-19 patients. In light of this, Domino’s Pizza and Sime Darby Motors have joined forces to express their appreciation and support to acknowledge our medical frontline heroes via its Love Our Frontliners initiative.

The partnership entails a contribution of 4,200 pizzas, prepared with love by Domino’s Pizza and delivered with care by Sime Darby Motors’ stable of brands. The kick off took place at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) quarantine and treatment centre with the first delivery of 400 pizzas by Domino’s Pizza and Sime Darby Motors.

Not the typical pizza delivery that one would expect, with the unique collaboration, instead of Domino’s delivery riders, Sime Darby Motors vehicles will be transporting the pizzas to the frontliners over a period of two weeks with the aim to uplift the spirits of frontliners who have endured so much during this time.

With respect to frontliners, Chief Executive Officer of Domino’s Pizza Malaysia Shamsul Amree said, “We are grateful to all our frontliners as they stand fearless to save lives and show strong courage to deal with everyday dramas and tragedies. They truly are our heroes. We could not imagine our life without their sacrifice and contribution.”

“We have heard and read stories of their tragedies and triumphs in this fight. As frontliners’ themselves, our Abang and Kakak Domino’s understand the struggle”, Shamsul added. “We don’t take this responsibility for granted. From one frontliner to another, we appreciate all your hard work and perseverance. Your courage is inspiring to us to keep fighting!”

“Guided by our “Count on Domino’s” promise, we aim to serve the community responsibly while protecting the safety and well-being of all. From strict hygiene measures at all touchpoints to safe food preparation and packaging, our Abang and Kakak Domino’s are dedicated to stand by our frontliners to keep the community safe. Come rain or shine, you can Count on Domino’s to deliver your orders in a safe and timely manner. Together, we are eager to extend our love and appreciation, from one frontliner to another. Love Our Frontliners! From all of us at Domino’s Pizza,” Shamsul concluded.

Sime Darby Motors’ Managing Director of Retail & Distribution, Malaysia, Jeffrey Gan, said, “The pandemic has demonstrated the commitment and dedication of our medical frontliners. As a service-driven organisation, Sime Darby Motors is passionate about upholding our core values. We are pleased to partner up with Domino’s, who share our passion. At the heart of it, this collaboration strives to provide relief and comfort to our brave frontliners.”

“Sime Darby Motors is pleased to reward chauffeur-driven rides featuring our stable of brands to offer a break to a few selected frontliners. They could wind down and enjoy a safe journey to visit and reunite with their loved ones whom they have not seen for a long period of time. We are honored to take care of our frontliners’ grocery trips in our specially commissioned vehicles. We have seen our frontliners’ determination, perseverance, and effort to take care of COVID-19 patients. That has been very honorable. We would like to send our love and thanks to our frontliners who have been fighting the battle for the past year and a half. We hope that all of us can be united in this fight.” concluded Jeffrey Gan.

The collaboration between Domino’s Pizza and Sime Darby Motors kicked off at MAEPS, the COVID-19 quarantine centre located in Serdang, where 1,400 frontliners tend to over 3,000 patients.

This delivery was promptly followed by deliveries to several COVID-19-designated hospitals within the Klang Valley, including Sungai Buloh Hospital, Hospital Selayang, Hospital Serdang, Hospital Kajang, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Ampang Hospital, Hospital Canselor, University Malaya Medical Centre, MSU Medical Centre and Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah.

As part of the Love Our Frontliners initiative, a few selected frontliners will enjoy a heartwarming experience of being chauffeur-driven in Sime Darby Motors’ luxury vehicles with a Domino’s homecoming pizza reunion to spread happiness to the frontliners and their families. The special treat will also include all expenses paid grocery shopping treats from Domino’s Pizza.

Most importantly the health and safety aspects of the collaboration continues to be a key focus, specifically the end-to-end delivery process implemented throughout. In keeping with the current situation and the SOPs that have been in place for the past year and a half, Domino’s has taken their safety and hygiene measures to a new level.

Along with the strict hygiene standards in place at all touchpoints from the safe food preparation and handling, all the way to its Zero Contact delivery practices outlined under Domino’s Count on Domino’s pledge. This is extended to Sime Darby Motors as it will be taking over the transportation of the pizzas for this collaboration.

Hygiene and health are the number one priority for both companies in ensuring that the collaboration is carried out safely and efficiently.
