Rocketfuel Entertainment Makes Senior Appointments

Malaysia’s premier Talent Management & Record Label Rocketfuel Entertainment has announced a restructure, bringing in three new senior appointments:

Wee Sher Leen as the Head of Rocketfuel Entertainment, Mathan Rajasingam as the Head of Commercial and Syakireen Othman joins the business as Head of Music and Content. The team is led by Prem Anand, Vice President of Rocketfuel Entertainment.

“We are thrilled to continue our growth and operations with the new team. All three appointments bring a wealth of experience and a proven record in talent management, content, music and sales to Rocketfuel. We are well-positioned to conduct our growth plans in digital, content and creator marketing in 2024”, said Prem Anand, Vice President of Rocketfuel.

Rocketfuel is associated with some of Malaysia’s most well-loved talents on screen, including Zizan Razak, Zul Ariffin, Sherry Alhadad, Lisa Surihani, Nabil Ahmad, and Hawa Rizwana.

Cementing its unique position in the talent and music space, Rocketfuel’s strategic association with Astro, sooka, NJOI, and other digital platforms enables the team to use its 360 degrees advantage to optimise reach for talents and clients.

A prime example would be Malaysia’s top singer Hael Husaini’s acting debut in the drama series ‘My Famous Ex Boyfriend’, which also became the launchpad for Hael’s album, ‘Atonim Part 1’.

The album’s tracks were featured as official soundtracks for the series and that helped it top the charts on YouTube, iTunes and Apple Music upon launch.

Rocketfuel’s new dynamic team has also introduced a new talent line-up and achieved significant milestones in the entertainment industry. Rocketfuel has played a pivotal role in the rise of on-screen young talents such as Mierul Aiman and Fazziq Muqris.

Additionally, Rocketfuel has discovered and nurtured new influencers, including 13-year-old Amir Sisi, winner of the singing competition, The Chosen One.

The talented line-up of Hero Dewi Remaja contestants along with influencer, Miss Alvy, will also benefit from a comprehensive exposure with promising avenues for their career on the silver screen and more.

Rocketfuel is also excited to announce its new strategic collaboration with Warner Music Malaysia’s ADA where both companies will collaborate on local and regional projects, including joint ventures and song collaborations.

This new partnership will see Warner Music Malaysia’s ADA exclusively distributing Rocketfuel’s catalogue across various key Digital Service Providers (DSP) such as YouTube & Spotify.

Sher Leen, Head of Rocketfuel, said, “We are enthusiastic about this partnership with Warner Music and we believe that this will bring a new platform for our talents and music to the regional and international front, opening up new fans and commercial opportunities.”

Dinesh Ratnam, Managing Director of Warner Music Malaysia, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to embark on this multi-year strategic collaboration through our distribution and label services arm, ADA.

Rocketfuel has established itself as a local talent powerhouse under Astro, and we are both aligned on our vision for nurturing and growing the Malaysian creative ecosystem.

We look forward to working closely and connecting Rocketfuel’s talents with audiences regionally and internationally, driving forward exciting new possibilities that leverage the global reach of our network.”

This forward-looking partnership signifies Rocketfuel’s strong commitment to broaden the scale and scope of its offerings for talents and clients while continuously enhancing creative excellence across the network.
