The Malaysian Digital Association (MDA)’s d Awards returned for the fourth year boasting 149 entries and 10 Gold winners. Now recognised by RECMA, the d Awards introduced new categories for Malaysia: How Businesses Beat Covid-19.
A total of 87 entries and 9 finalists for People Categories were shortlisted for the d Awards 2022, which is Malaysia’s sole digital media and advertising awards that recognises agencies, publishers and developers.
Forty-one agencies and publishers submitted their works and 12 winners were announced before an attendance of 350 at the Ruyi & Lyn Restaurant at Bangsar Shopping Centre.
“We’ve received a tremendous amount of positive feedback for D Awards night. The industry needs an award show that brings together all digital players from publishers, agencies, tech developers, influencers and to celebrate great work across all aspects of digital. This year we saw more winners taking the stage, but also a more stringent scoring criteria saw only 10 gold winners. The aim for MDA is to continue to push the envelope of quality and innovation in Malaysia’s digital marketing sector,” said d Awards 2022 Organising Chairman Eileen Ooi.
The event was warmly welcomed by the industry at large, as it commends innovation in developing digital products that touch customers’ lives and designing and execution of marketing digital campaigns that redefines the way consumers perceive and consume brands.
“I’m thrilled to see the results of the 2022 d Awards as the first in-person digital media industry award since the start of the pandemic two years ago. Apart from recognising all the industry’s hard work, I believe it gave a lot of opportunities for the industry to reconnect in-person again, surely collaborate in creating new opportunities with each other and industry to grow further,” said former MDA President Nicholas Sagau.
The event pulled it off with great glory by the Platinum Sponsors, Huawei Technologies and Media Prima Omnia and Silver Sponsor, Httpool by Aleph. d Awards 2022 also supported by the Bronze sponsors – Malaysia Development Economy Corporation (MDEC), Nuffnang and Unruly.
