Mattel embarks on landmark e-Commerce partnership with Lazada across Southeast Asia

(marketingmagazine.com.my) – Mattel® announces new partnership with online retailer Lazada to launch an official Mattel e-commerce shop across Southeast Asia.

The Mattel® e-commerce store on Lazada will feature Shop-in-Shop pages and introduce some of Mattel’s most iconic brands and products: from Barbie® and Thomas & Friends™ to the latest Hot Wheels®, MegaBloks® and Fisher-Price best-sellers.

The Mattel® Shop-in-Shop pages will also highlight a wide selection of products that support the development of infants, toddlers and children of all ages. These pages are now live and available for online shoppers in Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam.

With rapid adoption of the Internet and smart phones in the market, the potential of e-Commerce is massive in Southeast Asia – with 25% projected growth rate (A.T. Kearney 2014).

Two-thirds of the 150 million digital consumers in the region already shop online (Bain & Company, 2016). Following this recent rise in e-Commerce, toys have emerged as a potential growth category, with global purchase intention rate doubling in 2014 since 2011 (Neilson, 2014).
