GrowthOps Asia has made strategic appointments to strengthen its teams in the Southeast Asia region. David Isaac Mathews was appointed Chief Growth Officer for the Southeast Asian region, and in his place, Shaad Hamid was named General Manager of the Singapore agency. GrowthOps has also appointed Chris Greenough as General Manager of Malaysia. Between Singapore and Malaysia, Hamid and Greenough oversee a diverse team of some 200 professionals, in highly sought-after technology, user experience, creative, consulting, and marketing roles.

GrowthOps Asia is a marketing technology agency known for generating positive outcomes from high-impact digital experiences. To help companies accelerate their growth, the agency derives insights from end-to-end Customer Experience (CX) audits, and marries those insights with their knowledge of leading digital experience platforms(1). This strategic approach results in highly effective marketing campaigns.

“Businesses today are rapidly evolving through digital transformation, but sustaining growth is difficult because the traditional ways of reaching a customer are no longer as impactful,” says Chee Hung Goon, CEO of GrowthOps in Asia(2). “We are growing, because our partners are gaining confidence from our ability to identify where their customers are, and how best to reach and retain them on digital platforms.”

Other recent senior hires across the regional team include Su-Ann Teh as Digital Transformation Director; Edith Chin Siew Li as Head of Finance; Amelia Peng, Client Service Director; and Arshpreet Kaur as Corporate Legal Advisor. Additionally, Lik Pin Ong has been promoted as Head of Platform Delivery; and James Ng has been promoted to Head of CRM.

Shaad Hamid
Shaad began his digital marketing career at Oxford Brookes University’s Business School as a Marketing Communications specialist responsible for international student recruitment through digital marketing channels. He then went on to join Oxford’s largest independent digital marketing agency White.net (currently part of Found) where he worked on clients across e-commerce, travel and manufacturing industries. He then joined DigitasLBi in Dubai, UAE in order to set up the SEO team and department regionally across MENA where he oversaw delivery and was responsible for new business between 2013-2017, initially as a Senior Account Manager and then as SEO Director, working on clients such as Jumeirah Hotels, Rezidor Hotel Group, Etihad, Johnson & Johnson and Bupa International.

In 2017, Shaad moved to Singapore to join GrowthOps as the Regional Head of Growth Marketing Services for Southeast Asia, a role he continues to hold, along with that of General Manager for GrowthOps in Singapore, which he took up in October 2021.

“I am delighted to take up the role of GrowthOps Singapore’s General Manager, leading this brilliant team of people who bring passion, innovation, and diversity of thinking to work every day. I am incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and we are all excited about our next phase of growth. We continue to be client-focused, hungry to create amazing work, and humbled by our responsibility to shape the future of marketing in our region – in partnership with our visionary clients.”

Chris Greenough
Chris launched his digital marketing career with FutureLab in 2011, where he was part of the founding team that would go on to become GrowthOps Malaysia after a series of acquisitions. There he became an award-winning Head of Strategy for Asia and continues to be an EFFIE APAC judge. In 2015 he co-founded Hyperlab, an enterprise Conversational AI startup that was acquired by global Customer Experience firm, Everise. At Everise, he was elevated to Chief Marketing Officer, where he led the rebranding of multiple acquisitions and repositioned Everise from a traditional call center into a leading digital customer experience outsourcing firm, which supported the acquisition of Everise by a leading Asset Management firm in January 2021.

Afterwhich, Chris returned to GrowthOps as General Manager, where he leads a large and diverse team of marketing, creative, consulting and technical talent. Chris assumed the role from Elise Duarte Chu, who had been with GrowthOps Malaysia for the past 11 years.

“My combined agency, startup and enterprise CMO experience gives me a well rounded perspective of the challenges leaders in various stages of growth and transformation encounter. Throughout my career I’ve blended the use of technology with creative marketing to build effective customer experiences. This is the working practice knowledge I bring to GrowthOps, which I hope will benefit our employees and customers.”
