It was truly a night of excitement and celebration at the Malaysian CMO Awards 2018.
It was also the only major awards show in Malaysia, where the awards-programme started at 7pm and ended at 9.30pm! Leaving winners and guests a lot more time to party.
A total of 39 awards were given out, including the Best Marketer in B2B, Best Marketer in e-Commerce, Best Marketer in Travel & Hospitality and the coveted Malaysian CMO of the Year 2018 accolade was jointly awarded to Santharuban Thurai Sundaram of Etika Holdings and Eugene Lee of McDonald’s Malaysia.
“I’m honoured to be recognised as the Best Marketer in Travel and Hospitality marketing at the CMO Awards 2018 amongst so many senior marketers and CMOs in this dynamic and highly competitive e-commerce space.”
Schrene Goh – Global Head of Marketing, Malaysia Airlines (Best Marketer in Travel and Hospitality 2018)
“Evolving customer behaviour has required CMOs to understand the customer lifecycle inside and out to better leverage data in their care to enhance the bottom line and drive measurable results. CMOs are more influential in the enterprise of commerce than ever before, handling not just brand awareness and lead generation, but also customer retention and loyalty. Not only do they ‘get’ the brand, but they also tend to have useful communication skills required to lead the brand. The Malaysian CMO Awards is a highly celebrated recognition platform as it recognises the excellent CMOs in their respective fields. It is also a good platform to inspire young marketers to aim high as the industry will always need more great marketing leaders.”
Linda Hassan – Senior Vice President of Marketing, Domino’s Pizza Malaysia & Singapore (Best Marketer in Social Media 2018)
“Our victories for CIMB are dedicated not just to my amazing marketing team, but the awards programme itself for its timely recognition of all passionate marketers who bridge the gap between the business and its customers to generate demand.”
Mohamed Adam Wee – Group Chief Marketing Officer of CIMB Group (Best Marketer in Retail & Promotions 2018)
“It is a great honour to be recognised. The journey has been filled with enriching adventures and stories, and most importantly I have been blessed to work with amazing people. My team inspires me every day, and I thank them for allowing me to work with them.”
Timothy Johnson – Senior Vice President of Marketing, Product & Partnerships, INTI Education Group (Best Marketer in Education & Training 2018)
“Winning an award like this is never something you accomplish on your own, so I dedicate this to my awesome team at Catcha Group and my former teammates at PwC Malaysia. The Best B2B marketing award is especially meaningful because anyone who’s worked in this space knows it’s not a straightforward process to win share of mind. For me, the secret is in connecting your marketing efforts with the business’ purpose. When you know that purpose, are sincere in telling your story, and make an effort to touch lives – even just a handful at a time – you and the business always come out winners.”
Stephanie Caunter – Global Director of Marketing & Communications, Catcha Group (Best Marketer in B2B 2018)
“They say the key to excellence lies in talent, but the talent is merely the front end of hard work, persistence and determination. This award recognises the tireless drive and determination our team has shown over the past years. Special thanks go to my colleagues and management from the Etika Group of Companies who have been ever willing to support all our efforts. Also MARKETING magazine and Professor Harmandar Singh for putting this together. I am happy to be part of this industry and thank the industry for recognising the efforts of my team and I. My heartiest congratulations to all the other winners!”
