Do you have what it takes to win the 1 award Sir John Hegarty can’t? Entries now open for the Gong Awards 2022

As a local award show that is only open to locally produced work, even a junior creative who bags their first Gong this year can proudly say – with a straight face – that they’ve won more Gongs than any industry legend not based in Singapore.

A claim that’s not too shabby while you’re still out there chasing Lions and looking for Pencils.

That’s why this year, the Association of Advertising & Marketing Singapore, cheekily leans into the truly local nature of the Gongs like never before. How? By playfully taking on the biggest names in the industry who simply cannot compete with locals for this prestigious, proudly Singaporean Advertising Award.


“After a trying two years, we’re happy to bring back the Gongs as a live event with a point of view that’s authentic, irreverent and fun.” says Andy Grant, CCA 2022 Chairman and Executive Creative Director of TBWA\Singapore.

Andy is the Creative Head at TBWA\Singapore. He has over 22 years’ of Global experience working across the US, Asia and Europe.

At TBWA\Singapore he and the team have successfully led the agency to 3 Agency of the Year titles and helped the agency to move up 5 places in the creative rankings from 9th place in 2020 to 4th place in 2021 as well as being named Singapore Creative Agency of the Year by Campaign Brief Asia and Marketing Magazines Creative Agency of the Year for the 4th year in a row.

The APPIES is an annual event that presents a rare opportunity for creative, media, digital and marketing agencies or brands to present their best campaigns to the industry.

This is the only event where Live Presentations meets Live Judging.

Similar to TED Talks, The APPIES is the chance for great presenters with outstanding work to show it off to some of the industry’s most important industry leaders.

This year’s winners will receive Gold, Silver or Bronze trophies for 21 categories, and 6 special Best of Best categories (red trophies) that require no submissions!
