Astro is proud to garner global recognition once more by taking home 16 awards at this year’s Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA’s), held in Singapore on 28 September 2023.
Among the most notable awards won include One Cent Thief for Best Drama Series, Polis Evo 3 for Best Feature Film, Mechamato Movie for Best Animated Programme or Series (2D OR 3D) and Debunk for Best Comedy Programme. Liar, Astro’s adaptation of the BAFTA-nominated British thriller series of the same name, also takes home the award for Best Adaptation of an Existing Format.

Astro has secured 16 national awards across 36 categories in this year’s inaugural event. These accolades have earned Astro the honour of representing Malaysia in these categories, competing against 16 other nations in the Asia-Pacific region.
The stage is set for the Grand Awards and Gala Final where Astro will vie for the prestigious AAA golden trophies at the historic Chijmes Hall in Singapore on 6 December 2023.
The Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA’s) have been established to serve the creative industries as the pinnacle of their achievement in content creation and media production. Open to the entire Asia-Pac region, the AAA’s honours excellence across multiple platforms including television, feature films, digital, mobile, streaming and any other emerging technologies.

- Best Actress in Leading Role – Tiz Zaqyah, Liar

- Best Children’s Programme (One off/Series) – Legenda Puteri Qaseh
- Best Comedy Programme – Debunk
- Best Infotainment Programme – Are You Okay?
- Best Lifestyle Programme – Travel with Mommy
- Best Music or Dance Programme – Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2022
- Best Promo or Trailer – Malaysia Memilih (PRU 15)
- Best Short Form Content – Borak Dulu Baru Kamu
- Best Cinematography – Danny Lala, The Patient
- Best Direction (Non-Fiction) – Abid Hussain, Star vs Food Malaysia Season 2
