The Raya season brings with it the anticipated flood of Aidilfitri ads. This year however, Talon Creative, in collaboration with Astro is doing something a little different with the film Ada Apa Dengan Masa. The film is filled to the brim with over 30 Malaysian stars, coming together in an entertaining piece for the season.
This results in utter chaos as they rush to balik kampung to face this seemingly harrowing time in unexpected, hilarious ways.
Creative Director at Talon Creative, Erman Basiron says “Bringing together 30 Malaysian stars in a single Raya film was a challenge but the effective working relationship between Talon Creative, Layar Lucida and Astro, especially the marketing department and Rocketfuel Entertainment turned a dream project into reality.
Talon Creative Managing Director, Gavin Teoh added “This film embraced Astro’s Aidilfitri theme, Anugerah Masa Terindah, continuing Astro’s goal to bring families together in quality time, especially during Hari Raya.”
This TVC is on the heels of Astro’s Masa Bersama Merapatkan Kita film launched last year, starring Syafiq Kyle and Mimi Lana, generating conversation amongst Malaysian netizens about the topic of spending time to strengthen family bonds.
Astro Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Tai Kam Leong believes that Astro’s has a role to play in Malaysian families and society at large. “We are fortunate and honoured to be able to be the leading platform for Malaysian talent and stories. While we feel the message is timely and relevant, Astro embraces our unique opportunity to deliver it with this ensemble of talent”, he added. As a part of the campaign, Astro also introduced a WhatsApp Raya Sticker pack featuring more Malaysian celebrities, further extending consumer engagement and reinforcing relationships in fun and creative ways.
