Nike’s ‘Dream Crazy’ wins Outdoor Grand Prix at Cannes

Nike’s ‘Dream Crazy’ campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick scored the top prize in Outdoor on the first day of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

The Grand Prix-winning billboard from the campaign by Wieden & Kennedy Portland really hit the spot for the judges.

John Patroulis, the global CCO of Grey, led the Outdoor jury, and said the ad was the undisputed winner, with no other work coming close for the highest accolade.

The tweet that is now larger than life.

Patroulis said that the single billboard has to be simple, well-executed, had to take advantage of context, elevated the space and most importantly had to be perfect in the environment.

Paul Nagy, CCO at VMLY&R Australia and New Zealand was even more effusive with his praise.

“It made a statement to the world, that one image, they’ll be teaching ten years from now, not just in marketing books, but in history books, in my opinion, it’s the greatest Nike ad of all time,” he concluded.
