Comedy Court Banned from APPIES Malaysia

By The Malketeer

In the realm of Malaysian comedy, Allan Perera and Indi Nadarajah of Comedy Court reign supreme, their wit as sharp as a satay stick and their humour as rich as rendang.

These maestros of mirth, these sultans of satire, are the crown jewels in Bolehland’s comedy crown – an endangered species of talent we cherish at all times.

Their impersonations are so spot-on, so eerily accurate, that sometimes even the politicians themselves get confused.

With talent like that, they will be a surefire hit on The APPIES Malaysia 2024 stage.

But no such luck.

This is hallowed ground where Malaysia’s marketing maestros showcase their finest work.

Our policy is clear: only senior marketing leaders are allowed to judge.

Sorry Allan, sorry Indi.

Marketing Brilliance Rules The Stage

While we’ve confined the Comedy Court duo to the Long Bar at the Royal Selangor Club (where their jokes ricochet off the walls without disrupting serious marketing discussions), our marketer-judges have their game faces on.

At The APPIES, we are seeking marketing brilliance that shines brighter than Allan’s gleaming pate under the spotlight.

This is where mediocrity goes to die and excellence finds its true home.

Festival Doors Open

From Best in Non-Food FMCG to Best in Financial Services, from Best in Govt/NGO to Best in AI, and beyond – each category is a chance to prove that your marketing has mettle.

The APPIES is the only place where the latest marketing campaigns in Malaysia are presented to a live audience and a panel of 23 leading marketers-only judges.

Registrations are now open for delegates to witness over 150 presentations over two days, July 11 & July 12.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.

We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTTDOOHinfluencer marketing, retail, etc.

Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.

Collaboration is keypartnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.

Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
