LB Malaysia COO Michelle leaves agency.

Chief Operating Officer, Michelle Ong (picture) is leaving Leo Burnett Malaysia at the end of this year.
Tan Kien Eng, CEO of PublicisOne Malaysia confirmed this with MARKETING and spoke about how the agency is going through a big restructuring exercise.
“The COO role will be broken and shared amongst team leaders to create micro agencies within the main agency. We will be hiring an Operations Director for 2018” he shared.
Michelle joined the agency five years ago and helped on workflow systems, while handling brands like McDonald’s, Philip Morris, Dutch Lady Malaysia and Procter & Gamble.
She was previously Head of Brands at Proton Malaysia, and before that MD of McCann Indonesia, and has 20 years of communications experience building brands with Ogilvy & Mather and McCann Worldgroup.
Just last week, head of knowledge and strategy Sutapa Bhattacharya, left the agency after 14 years to join Tenaga Nasional (TNB) as its General Manager for Corporate Strategic Communications.
Managing Partner of Leo Burnett Malaysia, Andrew Leong, earlier informed MARKETING, “These changes are also part of a broader expansion plan within the agency, we have restructured our strategic unit to focus on business verticals as well as horizontal specialisation.”
