Nestlé marked a milestone with the launch of its Global Procurement Hub in Malaysia.
Located in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Nestlé’s third global centralised sourcing centre employs 130 staff from 35 countries.
As a key Asian market for Nestlé, Malaysia was selected to host one of the Group’s three Global Procurement Hubs, known as ‘Nestrade’.
The centre sources for ingredients, packaging materials and services from around the world to supply the needs of over 100 countries globally for its manufacturing operations.
The launch was officiated by Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Second Minister of International Trade and Industry, and Dr Magdi Batato, Executive Vice President & Head of Operations, Nestlé S.A.
Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan commented, “As we move closer towards realising the objectives of the Government’s Economic Transformation Programme, the Government is firmly focused on its vision to position Malaysia as a preferred investment destination and among the most globally competitive trading nations by 2020.”
Dr Magdi Batato added, “Given Malaysia’s proven track record of success, it is the ideal country for this hub, with all the right elements which will enable us to realise our vision to deliver procurement excellence for Nestlé.”
“Malaysia stood out from the other options due to its strong record, as Nestlé had registered strong growth in Malaysia and Singapore.
This milestone would not have been possible without the support of the Government of Malaysia, particularly the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Finance, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and Talent Corporation Malaysia.” said Mr Rahul Vashistha, Head of Nestrade Procurement Hub, Malaysia.
The new Global Procurement Hub in Malaysia is a new chapter in Nestlé’s long history in the country, which started when the company first began operations here in 1912.
Nestlé Malaysia is the biggest Halal producer amongst other Nestlé markets, exporting over 500 products to more than 50 countries, and is recognised as the Halal Centre of Excellence for the Group.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
