Proton Holdings unveiled its latest model, Proton Persona, with a star-studded campaign featuring popular local actors Fazura and Zul Ariffin.
Apart from being featured in the print ads promoting the new Proton Persona, currently running in major local newspapers, the two actors are also starring in a short movie titled ’Faz and Fairuz’ produced by KRU Studios.
In the short movie, the two stars play undercover agents who are on a mission to steal Proton’s latest car which they plan to use to create a viral video.
Similar to popular action-packed movies such as Fast & Furious, in the promotional movie, both stars get caught in a high-speed car chase and while driving they still have the time to highlight the car’s new functions such as its Electronic Stability Control (ESC) function and automatic headlamps.
The four-minute long video, directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar, has been well received online with the film gaining over 343,000 views and 5,700 shares on Proton’s Official Facebook and 80,000 views on its YouTube page.

MARKETING Magazine is not responsible for the content of external sites.
After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.
Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.
Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
