OHSEM ADS 2022 targets to impact 3,000 SMEs

Dattel Asia Group (Dattel) and REV Media Group (RMG) are following up their strategic collaboration with OHSEM ADS 2022 – an event on November 3rd for SMEs to educate them on the advantages of advertising on REV Media Network with the power of consumer data.

The event which will take place at Mines 2, Seri Kembangan is expected to attract up to 3,000 business owners and marketers from the Malaysian SME community looking to maximise Returns on Investment (ROI) from their ad spending.

Most businesses recognise the appeal of websites such as The New Straits Times, SAYS, and Vocket, however SMEs are less aware that these sites are part of the REV Media Network, which boasts the largest network audience in Malaysia.

Comscore reported that REV Media Network attracts 15.8 million monthly unique visitors, more than even Facebook or Google in Malaysia.

While digital marketing mix best practices usually integrates social media, search engine optimisation, Google ads and Premium Content Publishers, most SMEs can only afford social media for their marketing due to its price entry point.

Based on conversations with SMEs, there are three key reasons why premium content publishing networks are not in their digital marketing mix:

1 – It is perceived as expensive, and beyond their price range

2 – Unsure of the efficacy of such premium content platforms even though large brands are using it

3 – Not sure how and who to connect with if they are interested

OHSEM ADS 2022 aims to address the three main concerns by educating SMEs on the power of premium content publishing networks and the value it brings.

The event will showcase examples of effective advertising on REV Media Network by SME businesses.

The first collaboration between RMG and Dattel was in March 2022, as they jointly launched the REV Ad Manager, the first AI-powered self-serve advertising platform for Malaysian publishers.

The platform harnesses an innovative approach to advertising by using consumer behaviour data to recommend the best REV sites for the merchants’ advertising target audience.

Since its launch, more than 100 companies – ranging from SME businesses to large brands in retail, fashion and healthcare – have accessed the REV Ad Manager and its features.

With OHSEM ADS 2022, RMG and Dattel aim to make the REV Ad Manager available to all attending SMEs.

Ashran Dato’ Ghazi, Dattel’s Chief Executive Officer

Dattel’s Chief Executive Officer, Ashran Dato’ Ghazi said, “Targeting the right audience is crucial in any business aspect. We want to come in aid and empower SMEs with data that is actionable and most importantly yields results.

We have proven ROI results that currently surpasses Click Thru Rate benchmarks of Social Media Ads and this is something that we are proud of and want to extend to OHSEM ADS 2022 attendees.”

Samuel Wee, RMG’s Chief Executive Officer

RMG’s Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Wee said, “Gone are the days where SME business owners need to traditionally acquire data and create personas to match their audience targeting.

“Our AI powered recommendation engine will recommend the best media asset that is optimised for your market audience which makes it easier for the brands,” he added.

SMEs attending OHSEM ADS 2022 will be able to advance their marketing and advertising ability via the REV Ad Manager by creating consumer personas using consumer behaviour data, which includes segmentation by 30 Behaviour Archetypes and 12 Value Traits of Consumers.

The platform can generate up more than 103,000 consumer personas, covering 174 product and service categories.

Attendees will also be able to take advantage of special OHSEM advertising rates that is exclusively available at the event. The rates are designed for SMEs and will enable them to test out the efficacy of a premium content publishing network for themselves.

This essentially is giving SMEs more affordable options to reach their intended audience with their products and services.

Also supporting the event are Strategic Partners EasyStore and unifi Business Club, Financing Partner Myisco, and Dreamtalents Media as the Official Digital Agency.
