For 2022, the Media Specialists Association (MSA) Awards aims to become the catalyst of change for Malaysia’s marketing communications industry – which sees the country’s longest running media awards show embracing the digital frontier by integrating non-fungible tokens (NFTs) into the awards format.
The MSA Awards will operate on blockchain, which will allow winners to digitally access their trophies as NFTs – which represents something unique, collectible and that cannot be duplicated – in addition to a physical trophy. The NFT trophies will be awarded for the Special Awards categories, namely the Grand Prix, Agency of the Year & Advertiser of the Year, and will be presented to winners during the MSA Awards 2022 Gala on 26th August 2022.
In addition to the NFT trophies, the MSA Awards is also organizing NFT Artwork giveaways where one can win specially created artworks by talented local artists. The series of digital artworks aims to celebrate the positive impact & potential of this new platform in a local context, by visually capturing the thematic idea of ‘Malaysia in Metaverse’ through the artists’ perspective.
The giveaway will be held in four phases from 1st July – 31st August 2022, and those looking to win the special NFT artworks can participate in a series of lucky draws and engagement programs organized on MSA’s social platforms

The MSA Awards 2022 will be focusing on the future of Web 3.0 and the possibilities it unlocks for marketers, showcasing media effectiveness and elevating the role of media in communications with a refreshed perspective.
