Kenny wears three hats at Astro.

In a hattrick of sorts, Astro Radio CEO Kenny Ong has now taken on the interim role of Head of Astro Media Solutions (AMS). He is already CEO of Rocketfuel Entertainment, a media and entertainment, record label, and talent management company.

Astro Radio celebrated its 25 years recently by revitalizing the SYOK app and powering ahead in its transformation journey. SYOK has over 60 new online radio stations offering extensive variety and compilation of music, and a new Chinese news channel ‘YOU-NEIRONG’ for the latest news and current affairs updates.

2021 was also one of the best years for Rocketfuel Entertainment when they signed up over 70 talents, artists, songwriters, actors, actresses, influencers, models and celebrities in one year.

Currently Kenny is serving as Chairman, Communications and Multimedia Content Forum (CMCF) and Vice President of Malaysia Mobile Technology Association (MMTA).

He was formerly the Managing Director, Malaysia and Head of Special Projects, SEA for the Universal Music Group, the largest music business group in the world, and also served as the Chairman of the Recording Industry Association of Malaysian (RIM).

Before UMG, he served as the Country Head, Malaysia & Singapore of Unilever Network, a business division of Unilever, and before that the Senior Vice President for Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd, one of the top Islamic insurance companies. He also was previously the Vice President, Group Strategic Planning & Development for CNI Holdings Berhad, a public-listed Asian consumer-goods group of companies based in Malaysia.
