As a nation experiencing an emotional rollercoaster in overcoming the pandemic, it remains important for us all to be flag-bearers of hope for one another. Digi wishes to remind Malaysians from all walks of life that love, compassion and understanding begins with family, as we usher in the Chinese New Year.
In conjunction with the auspicious festivities and the hopes of coming back stronger, Digi and Naga DDB Tribal remain advocates of ‘real people-real stories’ with the release of a short film titled ‘The Undivided Heart’.
The film tells the story of Amy, a young lady who inherits the family restaurant in the most challenging of times. This leads to friction between family members who run the business with her. Ultimately, she learns that the love of family is the cornerstone in times of adversity.
Cheng Weng Hong, Digi’s Chief Sales Officer said, “This festive season, we hope to inspire Malaysians to remain hopeful and optimistic during these new beginnings that bring us closer together as one. The spirit of love and resilience helps us to draw the much-needed strength to move forward together and make this season of celebration a meaningful one. On behalf of Digi, we would like to wish all Malaysians a very Happy Chinese New Year and to stay safe this festive season while adhering to strict standard operating procedures when spending quality time reconnecting with loved ones.
“While this is a story of courage and hope, we wanted it to reflect real sentiments of communities that are persevering to ‘roar’ again, more so in the Year of The Tiger. The idea of the story stems from the ‘noise’ we typically experience in restaurants, which show a thriving business.”, said Loo Chun Guan, Naga DDB Tribal’s Creative Director. “This true-to-times story brought to life by the team at Naga DDB Tribal and Mojo Films, reminds us that above all family is our true wealth. We would also like to take the opportunity to wish all Malaysians and their families a Happy Chinese New Year.”, he added.
The series of festive and brand films from Digi in recent years, created by Naga DDB Tribal come with a distinctive storytelling style and consistent brand voice that touches the hearts of the Malaysian viewers. Some of the most talked about work includes CNY films Home (CNY 2020) and From the Heart (CNY 2021), as well as other festive films The Inspiration (Deepavali 2021) and Andaian (Raya 2021).
