Have you watched New York based filmmaker, Samantha Geloso‘s video titled ‘Hey, we’re a brand’?.
Released in April this year, Geloso put together a parody video that mocks brands using stock footages to convey emotional COVID-19 messages to consumers using what seems like a template production style.
Geloso’s parody uses the same concept and includes all the same elements such as a subdued piano track, user-generated photographs and videos of people and places using the pan and zoom effect; with a voiceover describing the overused strategy.
