With a strong momentum in quality parameters, Omnicom Media Group moves into a strong #2 in Malaysia

While all other prominent media agency networks have remained flat or taken a hit, Omnicom Media Group has been an exception.

According to the latest RECMA report on media agency performance in Malaysia, OMG has seen the biggest overall growth momentum, extending their continuous progression in 5 consecutive RECMA waves starting since 2020.

The network had moved to a strong #2 position in the market in 2022 and has since consistently closed the gap.

Omnicom Media Group, the largest media agency network in the world, has now achieved their biggest scale ever in Malaysia with strong double digit growth in last 3 years and expects to grow further.

The network has touched this high point as it celebrates its 24th year operation in Malaysia this year.

This momentum has followed the reorganization of the leadership team at OMG during 2021-22, which saw Eileen Ooi taking over as COO before being elevated to CEO in 2022.

The communication planning agencies within OMG also saw new leaders stepping in with Mayank Bhatnagar taking over as MD for OMD and David Soo taking over as MD for PHD.

OMG also saw other key leadership moves with Gwei being tapped for Chief Investment & Innovation officer whereas Daler Kendzhaev was elevated to Head of Annalect, MY & SG and Kiron Kesav to CSO of the group.

The last 2 years has also seen Omnicom Media Group’s strengthening its product offerings to data, analytics, and technology through their specialist entity Annalect, while it has successfully forayed into end-to-end e-commerce consultancy services with the launch of TransAct.

Enabled by the services of these specialist entities Omnicom Media Group has driven meaningful business results for all our clients across various industries.

Eileen Ooi, OMG CEO says “Omnicom Media Group Malaysia has shown steady growth in the last 3 years, as seen in our client retention success and our new business growth.

This is made possible given investments in building up our specialist solutions such as Annalect – our data, tech and analytics solutions focused to build effective marketing transformation and TransAct our end to end e-commerce solutions.

This result is a testament to the strong leadership and our amazing talents that have build Omnicom Media Group to where we are today. I am certain with the initiatives and plans we’ve put in place, and the strength of our people OMG will continue to demonstrate positive growth momentum ahead.

Both OMG agencies have been instrumental in driving the overall momentum, with OMD & PHD doubling their quali score over the 3 years. With this growth both the agencies have now moved into the ‘High’’ profile within Recma rankings.
