(marketingmagazine.com.my) – Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN) recently partnered with Maxis to enable tonton subscribers on the MaxisOne Plan to enjoy free 5GB video streaming data every month, alongside a FREE 60-day trial of tonton’s VIP subscription.
Datuk Kamal Khalid, Chief Executive Officer of Media Prima Television Networks shared, “Media Prima Television Networks is proud to partner Maxis Berhad to make tonton more accessible to consumers nationwide.
“The collaboration will allow MaxisOne Plan customers to easily enjoy quality content anywhere, on the go, from their mobile devices with the 5GB of free video streaming data for both tonton and tonton VIP members. Users will be able to upgrade to a tonton VIP membership that comes with zero video ads, download and watch later functionality, access to the full library and loads of VIP perks in just a couple of taps.”
Currently, tonton has over 5.9 million registered users, registration is free however premium content and special features are only available for tonton VIP subscribers. tonton VIP users are able to watch shows before it goes on free to air television, binge watch drama series, enjoy the exclusive live broadcast of events and enjoy premium live channels.
“While there are many OTT players currently available for Malaysian consumers, tonton’s unique selling proposition is that we provide the most sought after local content in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin,” shared Datuk Kamal.
He added that the platform also offers the best regional content through its tie by with TVB Hong Kong, KBS Korea and more. Apart from these tie-ups Datuk Kamal added that the network was in discussions to bring in more regional content from neighbouring countries.
He added that the smart partnership with Maxis is the latest done by MPTN having concluded similar collaborations with other telecommunications companies earlier this year to allow consumers greater access to tonton.
“Collaborations with major telecommunications providers present an opportunity for MPTN to reach new target audience who consume media via their mobile devices. As we have always said, at MPTN, we are more than just television,” concluded Datuk Kamal.
