ADFEST 2016 at PEACH – Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall, in its 18th year

(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – The Asia-Pacific Advertising Festival, ADFEST 2016, is now taking place place from 16th to 19th of March at PEACH, Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Pattaya, Thailand.

Leading the eight panels of Jury Presidents is Jeremy Craigen, the Global Chief Creative Officer at Innocean Worldwide from Seoul, South Korea.

There are 18 award categories being judged by 57 juries, who came from 18 cities across the world.

“Our industry needs people who can not only process information and crunch data but also tell stories and engage minds, which is the goal of ADFEST 2016. Festival goers will learn how to harness their creativity intelligently, and come away excited by the possibilities for the future,” says Jimmy Lam, President of ADFEST.

ADFEST 2016 collected more than 3,100 entries from 296 companies across 39 cities this year.

Malaysia scored 15 Finalists…

In the Design Lotus category, Malaysia has Finalists titled “BOOK OF PLAY” for client EVERYDAY by TBWA (2), “PROJECT BUKA PINTU” for PROJECT B by LEO BURNETT (2) and “CUT A TREE. KILL A LIFE” for BELUM-TEMENGOR RAINFOREST by Y&R. EVERYDAY’s “BOOK OF PLAY by TBWA is also a Finalist in the Media Lotus category and “SOUNDS OF STORY TIME” for EVERYDAY in the Promo Lotus category.

In the Film Lotus category, we have one Finalist titled “REZEKI” (GOD’S PROVIDENCE)” for AIA PUBLIC TAKAFUL by LEO BURNETT.

In the Film Craft Lotus category, Malaysia has one Finalist titled “MASTER THE ART OF TEH TARIK” for LIPTON by TBWA.

In the Interactive Lotus category, we have one Finalist titled “ONLINE PREDATORS” for PERSATUAN KESEDARAN KOMUNITI SELANGOR” by M&C SAATCHI.

In the Press Lotus category, we have four Finalists for Pizza Hut Delivery campaign titled EMPTY FRIDGE, FEED ME, GLUED TO THE TV, HUNGRY WORKERS. The entries were submitted by Cue & Art Design Associates KL, and it is also widely known that Ogilvy KL won multiple Cannes Lions for this work last June.

The awards ceremony will be held this Thursday and Friday for all categories including Young Lotus, Popular Vote and Special Lotus Awards.

Known as the ‘TED for Marketing’, campaign entries are presented by their brand marketers or campaign creators in an interactive format comprising of a 4-minute creative reel summarising the overall marketing campaign, followed by a 6-minute oral presentation highlighting significant aspects of the campaign, and finally a Q&A with the audience.

Entrant campaigns must have run between 1 January 2015 and 29 February 2016 in any of these categories:
