GetBats, Malaysia’s largest anchor company for merchant data markets, has announced its partnership with the iFood Expo. The expo consists of street vendors and manufacturers of packaging, kitchen appliances, and raw materials – ensuring that visitors are able to get the best deals, promotions, and suppliers for their business.
The partnership will see GetBats assist with consolidating data for participating brands and the organiser themselves, allowing merchants to easily access valuable data regarding their customers and spending patterns. With previous iFood Expo’s attracting up to 60,000 people in 3 days, the need for an experienced data consolidation system is key to ensuring further marketing opportunities – and GetBats manages to fill those needs while providing a network of support to participating SMEs.
Visitors to the exhibition will be required to visit merchant booths participating in the GetBats partnership. From there, visitors will scan a specified number of QR codes in order to qualify for a free gift, simply by entering their contact details. Stressing the importance of transparency and complying with data protection laws, visitors will be informed beforehand that their data will be used to receive promotion updates from participating merchants.
The data gathered from the event will be consolidated and shared by GetBats to both merchants and the iFood organiser. In turn, this allows for targeted marketing opportunities and added value for participating merchants, as they will be able to disseminate promotions to their new database prior to upcoming exhibitions.
A cleverly designed marketing strategy to drive attendees of the iFood Expo to specific booths, the partnership between the two giants relies heavily on the ecosystem that GetBats provides. Apart from consolidating data extracted from the Expo, GetBats will also manage said data, and curate the QR code system designed for visitor interaction.
GetBats Chief Marketing Officer, Alvin Lee, said “All industry titans will understand that data is more than just a component of running a successful business – data is the business. By consolidating data from such a huge event like iFood, we are confident that we will be able to assist SMEs and participating merchants in expanding the businesses.”
Championing the growth of local SMEs from the get-go, GetBats has long understood the importance of a data-rich platform in order to accelerate the growth of start-ups and small companies.
“Many start-ups and SMEs struggle with acquiring a solid database as technology advancement is more superior to the pace of development. Because of this, they often find themselves struggling to get the insights they need, with data scattered across multiple platforms. GetBats aims to consolidate the platforms and provide merchants with a system that not only helps them to run their business better, but provides a system that is catered completely to their needs.”
The iFood Expo will be held at Spice Arena Bayan Baru, Penang from the 27th to 29th May, and Pavilion Exhibition Hall, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur from the 1st to 3rd July. To find out more, please visit getbats.com.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
