ASTRO Powers Up ‘Raya Ad Super Bowl’ with Naga DDB Tribal

ASTRO has teamed up with Naga DDB Tribal once again this year with a new Hari Raya ad.

Continuing the tradition of entertaining Malaysians this year, ASTRO has launched its Raya campaign themed ‘Sempurna Seadanya’. The fully-integrated campaign includes a film titled ‘Raya Kuasa 7’ which tells a relatable and entertaining tale of 7 family members who outrageously try to outshine each other during the Raya celebration.

All the characters in this Raya film are designed specifically for ASTRO’s Raya campaign and are extended for use by ASTRO’s exclusive advertisers such as Air Asia, Kate Tokyo and Maxis.

“Sempurna Seadanya’ is a positive reminder for all of us that our family will always see us as perfect just the way we are. We often worry too much about self-imposed expectations that we forget the true meaning of being a family is about being there, together.” said Erman Basiron, Creative Group Head of Naga DDB Tribal.

Farid Ajlan, Head of Copy added, “To create more engagement, this Raya film comes with a contest called ‘Mana Kak Su Dondon?’ in which viewers must find and count the number of times the elusive Kak Su appears throughout the film.”

Astro is pushing the campaign even further with a spin-off telemovie inspired by ‘Raya Kuasa 7’ which will be airing soon to bring even more entertainment this Raya season.

The telemovie is directed by the acclaimed Michael Ang.
“In this age of individuality and division, we believe it’s important to remember that no matter how different we could be as individuals, we’re all one big happy family.

“Especially during the festivities like Raya, we should value the time we spend together more than anything else. ‘Sempurna Seadanya’ is our way of sharing this philosophy with all Malaysians during the Raya season” said Christinne Lim, ASTRO’s Marketing & Strategy Group Director.
