Get to know our CMO Awards Judges 2019

Only one month to go until the deadline for CMO Awards 2019 nominations.

On the judging panel to identify the deserving marketers is an eminent panel of industry leaders who are trailblazers in their respective fields.

These decision-makers have a wealth of experience between them and will be choosing only the top talent to take home the coveted awards.

Greg Paull – Principal R3 Worldwide

Greg heads R3 – a global consultancy focused on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of marketers and their agencies. They enable clients to get the competitive edge and a better return on investment from agencies, media and marketing spend. With over 100 people in the US, Asia, EMEA and LATAM, R3 works with nine of the world’s top twenty marketers including Coca-Cola, Unilever, AB InBev, MasterCard, Mercedes Benz, Johnson & Johnson, Samsung and Kimberly Clark.

John D Chacko – President International Advertising Association (IAA) Malaysia 

Senior Manager with 35+ years global experience in multinational FMCG companies across Australia, NZ, UK, Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Asia. Branding, marketing and management experiences with Kraft, Coca-Cola and McDonald’s. John was also Group CMO, CEO/MD of Khazanah National subsidiaries – Proton and LeapED.

Dato’ William Ng – President Enterprise Asia

William is Group Publisher and editor-in-chief of Business Media International (BMI), Southeast Asia’s largest business-to-business media owner and publisher. He is the founder of SME magazine which features current news and in-depth analysis plus the annual SME business awards and conferences. William is also President of Enterprise Asia, a regional non-governmental organisation for the promotion of entrepreneurship.

Andreas Vogiatzakis – Group CEO of the Star Media Group

Andreas Vogiatzakis (voh-ya-zaki) began his career at advertising agency DMB&B in New York, US and then he joined JWT in Athens, Greece before heading to Asia. In 1997, he launched and ran MediaVest Japan, later merging it with Starcom, with a short stint in between as Wieden & Kennedy’s Media Director for Nike, Uniqlo and Ben & Jerry’s. In 2003, Andreas moved to Taiwan as the CEO of the MindShare Group and in October 2016, he relocated to Malaysia to lead Omnicom Media Group. Later he became CEO of Havas Media Group Bhd. Since the middle of August this year Andreas has been appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Star Media Group Bhd taking the Group into its next evolution in the digital transformation journey.

Joel Neoh – Founder of Fave Group

A Kuala Lumpur native, Joel was the founder of GroupsMore, which became Groupon Malaysia in 2010, and a charismatic leader within Groupon Asia Pacific. In senior VP roles and as Head of Groupon Asia Pacific from 2013 to 2015, Joel was instrumental in establishing the high-growth business models that propelled the organization into a multibillion-dollar business with thousands of employees across 12 countries. Joel believes in the importance of creating a world-class work culture to inspire employees. He now drives Fave – one of Southeast Asia’s fastest growing start-ups, serving tens of thousands of offline businesses and millions of consumers and is one of the leading mobile O2O platforms in the region.

Surina Shukri – CEO of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC)

Surina attended high school at SMK Damansara Jaya before moving on to Mara Junior College, Taiping, and then The Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania where she received dual degrees in Finance and Systems Engineering. She has 17 years of Wall Street experience where she honed her skills advising on multi-billion dollar mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, and served as a member of the Commercial Banking Executive Committee at JP Morgan Chase & Co. She joined MDEC as CEO this year and is driving the national digital economy agenda.

Albern Murty – CEO of Digi Telecommunications Malaysia

Albern is a DiGi veteran who has been with the company since 2002. He was appointed chief operating officer in 2014 and prior to that, he was the chief marketing officer responsible for driving the company’s overall revenue growth. He has held previous management roles as head of strategy & new business and co-chief marketing officer. He has been CEO of DiGi.Com and DiGi Telecommunications since April 1, 2015.
