After putting out its Media and Creative 100 lists, WARC is now releasing its first-ever ‘Best of the Best’ line-up; it will primarily showcase the best all-round agencies and brands through a global index of excellence aggregation. The measurement process will pull from all three WARC Rankings – Creative 100, Effective 100, and Media 100.
To ensure the most stringent of processes are used this latest listing, WARC combined the 2018 results within the industry; specifically, from the most prestigious and rigorous global and regional creative, effectiveness, and media award shows. Of course, the line-up of these references are those that the marketing and advertising sectors deemed as suitable.
According to WARC, the results have been drilled down from on a worldwide survey and various consultation sessions. “As the culmination of WARC Rankings, the WARC Best of the Best is the best go-to platform to identify the best performing companies. It will be measured against the latest of the WARC studies – Creative, Effectiveness, and Media.
Topping the list, just like it did in the other three, are BBDO New York and BBDO Worldide. Both, with the former taking gold for ‘Best Agency’ and ‘Best Network’, while the latter added to the score through the efforts of its 59 offices worldwide.
Andrew Robertson, President and CEO of BBDO WOrldwide, shared with the press the good feeling he has is now getting. “It literally can’t get better than that when it comes to public recognition of BBDO Worldwide. I am proud of, and grateful to, our clients and all of the people in our agencies who made this happen,” he shared.
More than its agency wins on this comprehensive WARC list, Omnicom Group also scored the ‘Best of the Best for Holding Companies’. This, for John Wren, Chairman and CEO of Omnicom Group, is a hugely proud moment.
“It’s an extremely feel-good moment to see Omnicom and its agencies topping the ‘Best of the Best’ list as the #1 network, #1 and #2 agency, and #1 holding company. Employees across the globe come to work every day, ready to deliver world-class services for our clients. [All that] shines through as they’re recognised in [the WARC listings] for their creativity, marketing effectiveness, and media excellence. Congratulations to all our people who can take great pride in these accomplishments!” John added.
Interestingly, Burger King takes the Best of the Best brands crown, while Procter & Gamble topped the advertiser ranks. The big win for the fast-food burger chain is not surprising seeing as it has placings in the Top 50 for all three WARC rankings. Reinforcing this further is how it is seated as #1 for Creative 100 and hauled up to 23 award-winning campaigns in all three lists.
