The United Nations, under its agency United Nations Development Program (UNDP) aims to widen the awareness and active adoption of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Malaysia with the hire of seasoned adman and marketer Raymond Khor, as their Digital Communications Officer beginning 2nd of August 2021.

Working with Communications Specialists and UNDP’s various units, the Digital Communications Officer designs and implements coverage strategies, knowledge and engagement across the digital and social media platforms promoting the SDGs to key UNDP Malaysia’s target stakeholders and Malaysians at large.

“It’s a real once in a lifetime opportunity as I look to grow professionally in my career by adding community focused development programs on top of my commercial experience. And working with the UN, especially in advancing its SDG agenda digitally is an assignment I am thrilled to be a part of.” said Raymond.

The UN SDGs Sustainable Development Goals are a global call to action to end poverty, protect the earth’s environment and climate, and ensure that people everywhere can enjoy peace and prosperity. It aims to aid Malaysia’s vision of achieving developed nation status via the 2030 Agenda, which charts a development path that balances economic growth with social inclusion and environmental sustainability, based on solid institutional foundations, conditions for peaceful societies and the realization of human rights.

“As consumers are increasingly getting more mindful of their role in sustainability efforts, I believe advertising and the industry plays an important role in driving adoption and creating active participation of these goals, making them relevant and purposeful for the betterment of all Malaysians.” added Raymond.
