On 15 November, 35 inspiring marketers were celebrated for their outstanding achievements during the CMO Awards 2019. Curious to find out who they are beyond their accomplishments, we emailed our winners five simple questions to answer. We’ll be publishing their answers in this mini series we’ve decided to call “What would this marketer do with a free Elephant?”
Today we are featuring Senior VP, Marketing of Domino’s Malaysia and Singapore, Linda Hassan who won the special mention award for Best Marketer in Millennial Marketing.
What do you wake up every morning excited to do?
To do a 15 minute morning huddle with key members of my team, finding out their focus for the day, their key numbers from yesterday and highlighting any roadblock that needs to be cleared. Everyday, there is so much interaction with people. Hence, doing this first thing in the morning, despite being short, is insightful to determine how everyone’s day looks like and if it’s going to be an easy or challenging one.
If you woke up one morning and found yourself in a perfect world with no limits on budget and resources, what is the one marketing campaign you would make happen?
Individually personalised promotion to get every customer feeling excited that the promotion is designed specifically for them. After all, it is ‘All About You’ which comes down to valuing each of our customer unconditionally.
What is something you would never change about your team?
The fact that they really embody the eight (8) Domino’s DNA. I have such a committed and fun team to work with and if they ever leave, it is because they have learnt so much that they have found a higher professional and personal value. I never have regrets or qualms about them leaving because they have learned to become a better person under my leadership.

As a marketer, you must know… your numbers!
Tell us something quirky about yourself, not many people know.
I love speed and I love cars. The combination many people call racing. It is such a fun sport as it involves discipline, high adrenaline and a competitive spirit.
You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant?
I will teach the elephant to make pizzas 🙂

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.
Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.
Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
