Viu Appoints Sukhbir Sidhu as Head of Advertising to Expand Lifestyle Content Offerings and Drive Growth

Viu, a leading OTT video service provider in Southeast Asia, has announced the appointment of Sukhbir Sidhu as Head of Advertising. In this role, Sukhbir will be responsible for driving growth and revenue for Viu’s advertising business in Malaysia.

Sukhbir brings with him over 18 years of experience in the media and advertising industry, having held senior positions at leading companies such as iQIYI, TGV Cinemas, Star Radio Group, and Astro Radio. He has a proven track record of success in building and leading high-performance teams, developing and executing innovative advertising campaigns, and achieving sales targets.

In his role as Head of Advertising, Sidhu will be responsible for developing and implementing Viu’s advertising strategy, as well as overseeing the company’s sales team. Additionally, he will play a key role in identifying and securing new advertising partnerships.

In his previous position at iQIYI Malaysia, Sukhbir Sidhu played a crucial role in driving the company’s sales growth and securing numerous sponsorships for local drama productions and international campaigns. Notably, he successfully onboarded major brands like GRAB and FoodPanda for brand integration.

He was also credited with executing the first-ever branded content on an OTT platform in Malaysia for Grab, which received an award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards.

Sukhbir Sidhu is a highly motivated and results-oriented leader with a proven track record of success. His skills as a negotiator and relationship builder, combined with a deep understanding of the Malaysian media landscape, further contribute to his effectiveness in the industry.
