Following an eight-way pitch, Mal DNA Communications (DNA) has been appointed by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) as its above-the-line communications agency for UniFi, the telco’s biggest business portfolio for mass market consumers and SMEs.

The appointment was awarded based on DNA’s strategy that bridged the gap between Malaysians’ behaviour, product offerings and go-to-market ideas.

“In the 20 years of DNA, we’ve been able to ride out as well as rise with the economic cycles that affect both us and our clients. This has imbued us with an acute understanding of the needs of our clients’ businesses and is reflected in our approach towards what affects a business,” said CEO of DNA Feisal Merican.

“We are ecstatic that TM has entrusted us with theirs and look forward to a fruitful partnership with Malaysia’s Convergence Champion,” added Feisal.

DNA has also been awarded a HyppTV project by TM to promote its latest product offering, as well as its Sports Marketing account in conjunction with the 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games, otherwise known as Kuala Lumpur 2017, where TM is a Platinum Sponsor.

It has also been given the responsibility for TM’s Managed Accounts division which addresses the communication needs of enterprise-level businesses, where DNA has been tasked with strategising all communications activities to ultimately lead back to TM’s brand promise of making business easier.

DNA’s portfolio of past and present clients includes PETRONAS, Malaysia Debt Ventures, Burger King, East Coast Economic Region Development Council, Tourism Malaysia (ASEAN) and Hyundai.

MARKETING Magazine is not responsible for the content of external sites.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.

We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTTDOOHinfluencer marketing, retail, etc.

Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.

Collaboration is keypartnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.

Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
