Artificial Intelligence (AI) has seen a massive upsurge in 2024 — from Malaysia establishing our first National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO), to OpenAI’s Sora and Google’s Veo 2 going head-to-head in the generative AI race.
In this week’s episode of The NexGen Show, guest speaker Yasmin Chua shares her thoughts on the growing AI trend and whether it poses a risk to future advertising careers.
“I firmly believe that AI is not going to replace us, at least not in the short-term. But if you’re not using AI in your day-to-day then you will be replaced by the people who do. Even before AI, we were using tools to simplify our workflows like scheduling and analytical tools,” says Yasmin.
Hosted by Malaysian advertising veteran Prof. Harmandar Singh from MARKETING Magazine Asia, the third episode reflects on the biggest trends of the year, both industry-wide and personal.
“If you want something enough, you will do more. If you want to achieve greater things, you end up doing a greater number of tasks,” Yasmin shares in the episode.
“It’s important to be positive, but you also need to realise that everything is under your control and it’s just a matter of how you’re going to steer it,” she adds.
