The NexGen Show launches

Welcome to the weekly podcast for the marketing and communications industry.

The NexGen Show is a brand-new Sunday evening video podcast starring young advertising, media, and marketing talent.

In this weekly podcast, they talk about their future, fears and frustrations in a conversational format hosted by Malaysian advertising veteran Prof. Harmandar Singh from MARKETING Magazine Asia.

“These days people tend to ignore a lot of advertising on socials. You see so much of it, that the moment you see something that looks like an ad, you’re scrolling past it. So the only thing that sticks with me are ads that disguise themselves as not-ads,” says Nathalie Tay in the first episode.

“We’re still stuck in the Not Invented Here Syndrome from three or five years ago. When I talk to my friends overseas, the belief in the value of marketing there is strong. But if you come to the brands here, they’ll first ask for an example of it having worked before.”

TIME TO ENTER APPIES

The APPIES is an annual event that presents a rare opportunity for creative, media, digital and marketing agencies or brands to present their best campaigns to the industry.

Similar to TED Talks, The APPIES is the chance for great presenters with outstanding work to show it off to some of the industry’s most important industry leaders.
