AirAsia Media Group has announced Sean Ter, their Head of Sales as the Head of SUPER+, a new subscription plan for the airasia Super App.

With the brand new SUPER+ plan, subscribers will now be able to fly anywhere with unlimited flight redemptions across all AirAsia airlines for both domestic and international destinations.

In addition, subscribers of SUPER+ will have access to COVID pre-departure insurance coverage, and unlimited free deliveries for airasia food orders across all countries and locations where the service is available. Only 200,000 SUPER+ subscriptions is available right now for purchase across Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines until April 02, 2022.

During a virtual press conference, Sean had expressed his optimism saying that the airasia Super App expects to sell at least 50,000 to 70,000 passes in Malaysia and approximately 30,000 in the Philippines and Indonesia.

When asked about his vision with SUPER+, Sean told MARKETING Magazine, “I’m excited for the opportunity to take on the role, and look forward to building the many “pluses” we can look to bring to our subscribers.”

Labelled by Group CEO Tony Fernandes as the airline’s version of Amazon Prime and Netflix subscriptions, the new offerings of SUPER+ takes over the AirAsia Unlimited Pass offering that was launched during March last year. Tony also believes that the bold moves made by the company are radical and there are no online travel agencies that can offer unlimited free travel as they don’t own any airlines.

The flight redemptions for subscribers of SUPER+ began on March 28, 2022, and will be open until March 27, 2023, with travel commencing from April 11, 2022 to April 10, 2023.

With the travel restrictions now being eased further, airasia has increased their capacity for both domestic and international flights since October last year, more so since the announcement of the reopening of borders (in April, 2022) by the Malaysian government.

Collaboration is keypartnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.

Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
