Minister Chang Lih Kang highlighted the significance of this initiative, emphasising its pioneering nature as a collaboration between the National Technology Innovation Sandbox (NTIS) and NVIDIA.

This partnership aims to propel Malaysia towards a knowledge-driven economy, harnessing AI to foster innovation, enhance productivity, and bolster competitiveness.

The programme sets ambitious goals, aiming to nurture up to 900 AI startups by 2026 and cultivate over 13,000 new AI talents.

It is projected to potentially stimulate up to 10% economic growth, representing a significant stride towards Malaysia’s global prominence.

Incubating 100 AI Companies to Generate RM1 Billion in Revenue by 2030

Aligning with the national objective of incubating 100 AI companies to generate RM1 billion in revenue by 2030, the initiative sets a new benchmark for Malaysia’s technological aspirations.

The inaugural phase of the sandbox programme, spearheaded by the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI), will kick off virtually. It invites AI startups eager to contribute to its objectives, promising economic opportunities and nurturing entrepreneurship within AI-driven industries.

With NVIDIA’s support, the programme will prioritise training and capacity building in AI, ensuring Malaysia’s workforce remains competitive amidst the evolving landscape of AI-driven industries.

NVIDIA’s role as a Technology Partner under NTIS Innovation Acceleration Network Partner (IAN) will facilitate access to specialised labs and streamline the testing process for AI solutions.

In collaboration with MRANTI, efforts are underway to equip Malaysia’s top talents with essential AI skills, ensuring stakeholders are well-prepared to contribute effectively to Malaysia’s burgeoning AI ecosystem.

This collaborative endeavor underscores a shared commitment to advancing Malaysia’s AI capabilities and positioning the country as a prominent player in the global AI revolution, advocating for AI-driven solutions to address societal challenges and drive economic growth.
