Local start-up company Kabel is reaching out to forward thinking companies and job seeking Malaysians to join its “1-1-1 Movement” that is on a mission to create 5,000 jobs for Malaysians by Merdeka Day 2021.
Ahead of the movement’s official launch on 1 Aug 2021, several companies and brands such as Photobook Worldwide, Lalamove, Savor of Life, TUI International Holiday, Wellesta Truelife, Symphony Nutraceuticals, Arvato Systems, pitchIN, made4U and Asia Mobiliti have already stepped forward to participate in the movement by each listing one job opportunity on Kabel.
Approximately 200 job seekers have also since registered on Kabel’s job recruitment app to participate and be part of the talent pool.
There is zero cost of entry for either companies or job seekers to join the 1-1-1 Movement.
Founder of Kabel, Camelia Loh said the concept behind the 1-1-1 Movement is to get companies to list just one job, to match one job seeker, and successfully realize one employment opportunity at a time. “We want to be part of the solution. The prolonged pandemic situation has destabilized the local job market and unemployment is rising, affecting the livelihood of many Malaysians.”
“With many out of work, companies now face double or triple the influx of applications, making it time consuming to filter and respond to each. Jobseekers on the other hand, are mentally impacted if they get ghosted. Our aim is to facilitate a more productive and fruitful process for both the company and the job seeker,” Camelia added.
A new player in the market, Kabel is the first human-to-human mobile recruitment platform for corporate professionals that enable the line manager and the job seeker to align goals and expectations before hiring takes place. As it is built to be intuitive and responsive, job seekers are able to know the status of their application instantaneously.
“The 1-1-1 Movement and Kabel has the potential to change the landscape of recruitment,” says Camelia, who has been running her own executive search firm for the last 15 years.
COO of TUI International Holidays, Viren Doshi said that the movement was a great opportunity in many ways. “We get to test Kabel’s capabilities as an app, do good, and find a good hire.”
Workshops will be conducted for jobseekers at the end of July to prepare them for a potential interview.
Among the partner companies of Kabel in the 1-1-1 Movement are Work Inspires, a company that designs and customizes learning and engagement programs for companies and Dr. Lynda Ling Sai Ang, a registered & licensed counsellor in Malaysia, who is experienced in workplace counselling and career guidance.
