Invictus Blue, one of the nation’s leading communications companies has appointed Firdaus Jonid as its new Managing Director.
Firdaus was previously Invictus Blue’s Director for Strategic Resources. His appointment signals the company’s shift towards younger leaders, in line with its plans to remain a market leader in the robust media, creative and communications spheres against the backdrop of a young population.
A specialist in integrated communications, his appointment is a response to the market’s growing demand in this area, amid a rapidly-evolving, technologically-driven media landscape.
Prior to joining Invictus Blue, Firdaus headed the advertising and communications divisions in two major Malaysian multinationals. Having been on both sides of the fence has given him a holistic hands-on experience in the communications ecosystem.
“We have an excellent team at Invictus that embodies teamwork, tenacity and creativity. This has enabled Invictus to take a commanding position while winning many awards in recent times,” Firdaus said.
The appointment comes at a time when integrated communications has become the preferred modality of many clients to reach out to their increasingly sophisticated audiences.
Invictus Blue CEO Gerald Miranda is confident that Firdaus will be able to continue the company’s recent growth trajectory.
Miranda added that Invictus Blue’s leadership structure is constantly evolving in response to market needs. Firdaus represents a new generation of young professionals leading corporations by driving innovation and rewriting the rules of the industry in the process.

Invictus Blue recently won 15 awards at the Malaysian Digital Association’s (MDA) d Awards, including the coveted “Grand Prix” and “Digital Impact of the Year” accolades. Invictus Blue has bagged more than 60 awards over the last three years. The latest MDA awards come on the heels of Invictus Blue’s win for “Agency of the Year” in APPIES 2021 and Media Specialists Association (MSA) Awards 2021.
Firdaus replaces David Soo who has since left the company.
