Prompted by today’s front cover feature by The Malay Mail (pictured) on flight attendant hopefuls being asked to strip down to their bras during Malindo Air’s recent walk-in interview, Firefly was quick to respond on the issue with an online ad on their social media channels.

The ad which was posted on their Facebook page at 12pm today touched on the incident and highlighted their newly launched low prices promotion.

The response ad, however, was short-lived as a quick check on Firefly’s Facebook page at 3 pm today showed that it had been pulled down a few hours upon being Live.

MARKETING has reached out to Firefly for a comment on this issue.

In the Malay Mail article which ran today flight attendants who were keen on joining Malindo Air expressed their outrage when asked to ‘expose their chests, lift their skirts, fold up their pants or remove their pantyhose’ during the airline’s walk-in interview conducted on March 11th.

In response the expose, Malindo Air’s public relations and communications director Raja Sa’adi Raja Amrin was quoted in the Mail Mail saying that it was the employer’s rights to request potential flight attendants to expose their chests to interviewers as they wanted to see if applicants had visible marks due to the material of Malindo’s uniform.

The news has prompted a strong response from local parliament members who called for the airlines to apologise to Malaysian women for their actions.
