CIMB Strengthens its Group Brand & Marketing Team

CIMB Group, one of ASEAN’s leading banking groups is pleased to announce the appointment of Toni Darusman as Group Chief Brand & Marketing Officer following a strategic review of the brand & communications functions to strengthen the Brand & Marketing team.

Toni is no stranger to the CIMB Group, having helmed the Marketing, Brand and Communications leadership role in CIMB Niaga from 2018 to 2023. Since 2021, his role was expanded to include taking charge of Customer Experience function at CIMB Niaga.

Toni is a well rounded and strategic senior executive who brings deep experience in brand building, integrated marketing and Customer Experience. He has held regional and in-country leadership roles that spans across Indonesia, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

He has 24 years of experience in cross industry and geography exposure coupled with an impressive track record in managing global brands, building and rejuvenating brand equity, driving innovative marketing strategy and rolling out integrated communications for internal and external stakeholders.

The appointment demonstrates CIMB’s core value in giving top regional talents the opportunity to excel and to helm a group role.

A top graduate with a Master Degree in Mechanical System Engineering with honors from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, Toni has managed both global and local brands like Bank Danamon, Indosat Ooredoo, GSK, Heineken, Unilever, Coca-Cola, and Philip Morris.

Tammy Toh from Astro has also joined CIMB as their Regional Head, Group Corporate Communications effective 26 February, 2024.
