One of our upcoming virtual classroom trainings will be none other than Tay Guan Hin, back by popular demand for his workshop on The Future of Vertical Storytelling.

Happening on 20 and 21 of July, Guan Hin’s workshop is officially open for booking and is also HRDF claimable.

Vertical storytelling is inspired by the fast developing concept of vertical video, as an innovative form of telling a story to consumers and viewers through their smartphones. As time spent online is achieved through the phone for most people, the traditional horizontal video format is forced to turn on its side allow 9:16 to become the new norm.

A rise in vertical storytelling is seen as the increased use of smartphones has forced videos to shift from a traditional horizontal format into a 9:16 format.

Marketers and art directors who understand what it takes to create successful content in the 9:16 format have a creative advantage over their peers. Guan Hin who has extensive experience in creating marketing campaigns by using vertical storytelling, will walk participants through the process of learning this strategy.

MARKETING Magazine is not responsible for the content of external sites.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.

We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTTDOOHinfluencer marketing, retail, etc.

Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.

Collaboration is keypartnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.

Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
