U Mobile Scores Exclusive Telco Partnership Deals

Majlis Undian Superbest Power Piala FA 2016

Majlis Undian Superbest Power Piala FA 2016(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – U Mobile will be the Exclusive Telecommunications Partner for Malaysia’s two premier football competitions – the Superbest Power Piala FA and Liga Premier Malaysia.

This comes in the wake of a partnership agreement with Football Malaysia Liability Partnership (FMLLP) for three years, starting from the 2016 season

The partnership with FMLLP will give U Mobile marketing, promotion and engagement opportunities around the two competitions, in-stadium branding, corporate hospitality and use of the club and player image rights for advertising purposes.

U Mobile adds to the growing number of sponsors and brands partnering FMLLP to bolster Malaysia football leagues, which also includes the TM Piala Malaysia and Super League.

U Mobile Sdn Bhd Chief Marketing Officer, Jasmine Lee said: “We are delighted to be the official co-sponsor for the Superbest Power Piala FA and Liga Premier Malaysia. We believe this partnership is a natural fit as many of our customers are football fans. Through this collaboration, we are able to give greater value and user experience to our customers by bringing them closer to the game they love. This is especially true with the customized app that U Mobile will be developing for Malaysia’s top tier tournaments. Our customers will be able to get regular updates and watch interviews via their smartphone, another opportunity for them to enjoy our data strength and speeds.”

To mark the partnership, U Mobile has created an exclusive customer campaign called #BangsaBola which consists of on-ground activities, as well as contests where football fans may win a chance of getting up close and personal with their favourite players.

A #BangsaBola microsite is also being developed for fans to view match highlights up to 1 minute per round and other football related content. It will go live next month.

To further heighten the excitement around the Superbest Power Piala FA and Liga Premier Malaysia, U Mobile has even created a rallying cry, “Semangat Bola, Jiwa Juara”, for fans to show their support for the team they are rooting for.

According to Football Malaysia LLP Chief Executive Officer Kevin Ramalingam: “We’re very excited that U Mobile has come on board to support Malaysian Football. The increasing support from homegrown commercial enterprises towards our league and cup competitions highlights that we’re on the right track to elevating the status of local football.”

Added Dato Hamidin Hj Mohd Amin, General Secretary of FAM: “We are delighted with this partnership as it highlights our shared goal of taking Malaysia Football to greater heights. Having a local sponsor such as U Mobile will certainly be key to building a bright future as it will contribute towards professionalising our leagues and cup tournaments.”

The 2016 season of the Superbest Power Piala FA kicked off on the 19 February while the first game of Liga Premier Malaysia began on 12 February.
