Tune Talk appoints Ameen Amaendran as new CEO

Ameen Amaendran as new Tune Talk CEO following Jason Lo’s mysterious disappearance into the future

Tune Talk has just appointed Ameen Amaendran Abdullah as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.
The announcement done through a comical music video features Ameen, who is dressed semi-casually, strutting into Tune Talk’s office with a group of young executives.
Below is Tune Talk’s welcome video for their new chief.

He replaces Jason Lo, who has been serving since the company’s founding in 2007.
In Tune Talk’s statement to The Edge Markets, “Ameen’s presence in the company, backed by his vast experience, forward-looking, and a track record of great achievements under his belt, will be the catalyst that will direct the company to unprecedented levels.”
Previously, Ameen was the CEO for RedOne and also the head of mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) and migrant segment at Celcom.
Sources have reported that Tune Talk’s founding CEO, Jason Lo was detained at Dubai International Airport last September. However, Lo denied the media report that he was detained for drug possession. Instead, he said, he was sent to the police lockup because he had tried to help his friend who attempted to break up a fight.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.

We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTTDOOHinfluencer marketing, retail, etc.

Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.

Collaboration is keypartnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.

Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
