Star Media Group appoints three new leaders
The Star Media Group has announced a slew of appointments and redesignations of its senior management personnel in a bid to meet challenges in the future.
Roy Tan Kong Weng, has been appointed Group Chief Operating Officer effective May 1, 2018. He will be replacing Datuk Calvin Kan. 45-year old Roy was previously Star Media Group’s Chief Digital Officer. He was responsible for the building and managing of Star Media Group’s overall digital capability.
Sunday Star Group Editor Esther Ng Sek Yee has been appointed Chief Content Editor. She will be replacing Datuk Leanne Goh. 49-year old Esther previously held the role of Executive Editor. She has joined The Star since 1992.
Lydia Wang Chen Choo has been named Chief Revenue Officer. She will be taking over from Lim Bee Leng. Prior to this, 47-year old Lydia served as the deputy senior general manager (advertising and business development). She previously served as Taylor’s Education Group’s vice-president for brand management and corporate marketing.
Meanwhile, Kan, Goh and Lim have opted for early retirement.
