PixelBox Group appoints Think Tank’s Stephen Douglas as Group General Manager

Stephen Douglas appointed as Group General Manager of PixelBox Group

Post-production company PixelBox has hired Stephen Douglas, one of the industry’s most experienced and respected practitioners, as Group General Manager.

Over the past 18 years, Douglas (pictured right) has gained enormous experience in post-production in the Asia Pacific, having worked at some of the region’s leading companies including Fin Design + Effects, Method Studios, Postmodern, Digipost (NZ) and Oktobor (NZ).

Effective August 1st, Douglas will assume this newly created role at the PixelBox Group of companies, working alongside Founder and Managing Director Chris Thorp to establish the new Manila studio and accelerate the growth of their successful Shanghai and Hong Kong operations.

Stephen’s appointment comes off the back of two highly successful years as Regional General Manager of Directors Think Tank Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Founded in 2007 in Hong Kong, PixelBox are a full service Post Production facility that specialises in Post Production, Visual Effects, CGI, 3D, Creative Design, Animation and Virtual & Augmented reality.

During his tenure, Directors Think Tank opened a new Jakarta office, became part of Japan’s biggest production company AOI-Pro, and were ranked as one of SE Asia’s most awarded production houses.

“Helping the team kick some significant goals and making some great friends along the way has made my time at DTT a highly rewarding and enjoyable experience, but this new challenge was something I couldn’t ignore,” said Stephen.

“With studios in Shanghai, Hong Kong and now Manilla, PixelBox is poised to become a serious player in the region, and I’m excited to be joining my good friend and colleague Chris Thorp to help maximise this potential and take PixelBox to the next level,” added Stephen.

“I’ve known Stephen for a number of years now and have a great deal of admiration and respect for his passion, drive and business acumen.

“Not to mention the extensive networks he’s created and nurtured throughout Asia and beyond. We’ve often talked about working together when the time is right and that time is now,” said Chris.
