The relaunched MC2 Awards, with a new twist to seek out fresh creative talent from all corners, has closed for entries.
For this round, 63 ideas from individuals, students, and agencies were submitted in response to briefs by Malaysia Airlines, Maxis, Nando’s, unifi, Domino’s, Calpis and Red One.
Judging will be commence next week in two stages.
The first stage will be conducted by Malaysian creative luminaries who have proven themselves on the global creative awards stage, so they can help raise the creative bar in Malaysia.
The second stage commences two weeks later, where shortlisted entrants get to present their work to the actual clients or brand guardians of the respective briefs.
Ideas that break through the mould with their creativity and relevance could be brought to life by keen marketers.
The winning creative person or team will be awarded RM10,000 for each idea that is implemented.
MC2 Awards is solely about future-facing and is not about past creative achievements, unlike other creative awards shows.
The challenge is open to everyone, with a humble hope to unearth undiscovered Malaysian creative talents.
The next round of the MC2 Awards challenge will be open in the first quarter of next year.
Proceeds from MC2 Awards entry fees are donated to MERCY Malaysia in supporting their mission to Palu, Sulawesi. This is in response to the devastating 7.5 magnitude earthquake and tsunami that shocked Indonesia last month, with the death toll exceeding 2,000 and 200,000 people needing humanitarian support. Readers who also wish to donate can do so at http://mercy.org.my/how-to-donate/
