The third day of the Malaysian CMO Awards 2021 Champions Tour was hosted and sponsored by multiple award-winning agency SPIN Communications. The ceremony took place at the office of SPIN Communications on the first of March, 2022.
Winners who received their awards during the third day are Edmund Lee (Head Of Marketing & Strategy, Red Bull Malaysia), Mark Tan (Marketing Manager, IPC Shopping Centre), Mohammad Munzir bin Aminuddin (GCEO, Siti Khadijah Apparel), Kong Wai Seng (Head of Marketing, A&W Malaysia) and Siti Hajar Rizlan (Head of Brand & Communications, Etiqa) who was unable to attend the ceremony.
The winners were given a warm welcome by the management team of SPIN Communications. Managing Director Chit Quah Seng said in his welcome statement, “Congratulations to the winners of the CMO Awards and thank you to MARKETING Magazine Malaysia for organising this outstanding award show. It’s safe to say that 2020 and 2021 were years like no other and the winning marketers have done well to overcome the challenges posed by the lockdowns and the pandemic.”
“2022 will certainly not revert back to the old normal. As the digital economy continues to thrive, we are helping clients discover what they should take away from the pandemic and what they can do to grow faster in the age of Covid-19. The starting point is our SPIN Digital Innovation Lab, a bespoke collaborative exercise where we explore possibilities through the latest technology. Asking and answering the questions arising in this exercise will help to build marketing success in the months and years ahead,” added Chit.
Winner of the Gold award in ‘Best Marketer in Omni-Channel Marketing’ Edmund Lee commented, “The Annual CMO Awards is an event we always look forward to. But more than just being an award, it also serves somewhat as a barometer for the quality of work we do and how we measure up to the rest. I would like to thank my team behind this win. They have been crucial in supporting the development and execution of the strategy that enabled our CMO Award wins for the past 3 years.”
Mark Tan expressed his gratitude saying, “I am very grateful and honoured to have won such a prestigious award. I certainly couldn’t have done it without my team and am grateful to be working alongside these amazing people. I would also like to thank my boss, Karyn for always being supportive and trusting me and the team to do amazing work. This win also could not have been possible without all our agency partners – idotyou, Loki, Your Maker, Ascentis, Madison, MC² and PHD. I think this award is extremely meaningful because it acknowledges all the effort that marketers put in to create an effective marketing campaigns which most consumers don’t see. I think it’s even more special this time around due to the pandemic and it was tough for everyone. Kudos to all the winners. Special shout-out to my mentor – Andrew Yeoh for always guiding me and encouraging me to submit for this award.” Mark won the Gold award for ‘Best Marketer in Loyalty & Engagement’.
“I feel honoured as a local SME, among the international giants to be given such award, that too for a second time! This comes from the hard work and perseverance by the team for the past two years fighting with market uncertainties and challenges through out the whole supply chain. This award really boosts the motivation to further enhance our capability in terms of marketing in order to stay relevant and competitive in the market,” said Mohammad Munzir bin Aminuddin, who won the Special Mention award for ‘Best Marketer in Retail & Promotions Marketing’.
Kong Wai Seng, who won a Special Mention for ‘Best Marketer in Media & Content Partnership’, said, “2021 has been a challenging year for all marketers, and pivoting the business has been ever so vital to ensure the brand stays relevant to our consumers. It is a huge honour for me to receive this prestigious award on behalf of the A&W marketing team. I am deeply grateful and humbled for the recognition from the esteemed judges and leaders in the industry and moreover, alongside with the notable winners for the work we have done.
